
About Martin Papista
Martin is an olympian coach and WTCS podium coach. He has master degree in sport science and over 25 years of experience in endurance sport. As an athlete he won national Championship in every single category from youth, junior and elite. International he finished 4th overall in annual junior european triathlon ranking before focusing fully on coaching. In age of 12 he already started reading books about human physiology, training methods of Arthur Lydiard and Bill Bowerman. When he was 16, he started to coach himself and other athletes from his national team. To gain as much expirience as possible very early he visited training camps of many famous endurance coaches who coached olympic gold medalists and world triathlon champions. Martin studied sport science at Faculty in Zagreb where he got his master degree on thesis: Long term athlete development in triathlon. For last 10 years he works full time as a head coach at Austrian national triathlon training center in Südstadt, Austria. His biggest coaching achievement is developing athlete from junior level into olympian with WTCS and world cup podium.
He trains athletes from all levels, professional elite athletes chasing Ironman Kona slots or competing at Olympic Games, but he also helps age group athletes to fullfil their goals. Till now he coached over 50 ironman finishers and over 100 half ironman finishers.
